Author Salinda D. Solomon was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, and has resided in Richmond, Virginia since the age of twenty-one. She has two children, Kamisha Lafaye' Solomon, and Richard Rubin Bowman. She held a job as a correctional officer at the Women's Farm in Goochland, Virginia, then went and worked at the Powhatan Correction Center in Powhatan, Virginia. She served her country in the Navy, during the Persian Gulf War. She completed her studies at Strayer University College, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She is enjoying her grandchildren and every day of her life, and she has written a book called Siege Mounds.
